The E-learning evolution leveraging new technology approaches to advance healthcare education.

LOUISVILLE, KY, August 25, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ — The future trend of e-learning method in medical education is greatly influenced by major trends in education industry i.e. (1) continuous change in Healthcare environment inclusive of advances in biomedical sciences and diagnoses & management of diseases, financing, organization, and delivery of wellness care services; (2) Adoption of emerging communication, simulation, and info technology in undergraduate, graduate, and continuing medical education; (3) Competency-based patient outcome oriented training.

With the new emerging technology in learning settings, we can make considerable improvement inside the quality of medical education. We can employ revolutionary approach to impart training to doctors using cutting-edge e-learning technologies. Web-based learning including video clips, animated diagrams, medical images, etc. can be very effective way of learning for medical, health sciences, and dental students.

The electronic data sources carry a significant value by providing rapid access. Medical databases that remains updated provide medical literature can be used for simple text based queries, or content-based visual queries. E-learning technology keeps busy clinicians abreast of recent advancements in their respective fields in an effective and less time consuming manner.

Benefits of Healthcare Online Training:

* Students can attend a course at any time, from anywhere.
* Online learning enables student-centred teaching approaches because every student has their own way of learning that works best for them.
* Course material is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
* In an online environment, it increases student interaction and the diversity of opinion because everyone gets a say, not just the most talkative.
* Online instructors allow students to be exposed to knowledge that can’t be learned in books because the practical knowledge may be from any location around the globe.
* Using the internet to attend class, investigation information and communication with other students teaches abilities in using technologies.
* Participating online is much less intimidating than ‘in the classroom’.
* Because online institutions often offer ‘chat rooms’ for informal conversation, there appears to be an increased bonding over traditional class environments.
* The online environment makes instructors a lot more approachable.
* Online course development allows for a broad spectrum of content.
* Because everyone gets a chance to contribute, students are less irritated with those that ‘over contribute’ and can ask for clarification of any comments that are unclear.
* Online classrooms can facilitate team learning by providing chat rooms and newsgroups for meetings and joint work.
* Students often comment that online learning lets them attend in increments of convenient time blocks.
* Because there are no geographic barriers to online learning, students can find diversity of course material that may not be available to them where they live or work.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN, August 25, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ — Wellness Resources announced today that it is celebrating its twenty-fifth year of changing lives through nutritional supplements and education.

Over the last 25 years, the Wellness Resources line of supplements, and the work of co-founder nutrition expert, Byron J Richards have changed the lives of thousands of individuals throughout the world.

“The Leptin Diet book and program has been a lifesaver! Three years ago I was suffering from adrenal fatigue, hypothyroidism, fibromyalgia, sleep disorders and had been diagnosed with lupus. Following The Leptin Diet and using your supplements has greatly improved my health status! I’m helping to educate those around me. Thank you for your contribution to my wellness!” — Susan M, a Wellness Resources customer

Richards has written three books including The Leptin Diet, Mastering Leptin and Fight for your Well being.
Also this year, co-founder and women’s health educator, Mary Guignon Richards, will devote her time to start Mothers for Wellness, a non-profit organization. This non-profit will be dedicated to help mothers and children to become and stay healthy. “It’s my time to give back to a community that means so much to me,” says Guignon Richards. “I feel so lucky to have had the knowledge to be healthy for my children and myself–all women deserve this.”

“Part of what has made Wellness Resources so successful, is that individuals can rely on it as an educational resource,” says Guignon Richards. “Wellness Resources is not just another company that sells supplements. We invest in our customers by providing the most accurate, up-to-date info about health and supplements to help you and your household to stay informed and well.”

Anne C. Lawless brings decades of patient care expertise to medical equipment manufacturer

JACKSONVILLE, FL, August 25, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ — Anne C. Lawless, Clinical Applications Specialist and Educator for Lumenis Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who’s Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in nursing and clinical education.

A 50-year veteran of patient care, Anne C. Lawless is best noted for her expertise in perioperative nursing, neurosurgery, open heart surgery, and laser procedures. She has devoted the last two decades to Lumenis, a manufacturer of medical and cosmetic laser, light-based systems. Inside the dual capacity of clinical applications specialist and educator, Ms. Lawless draws on her practical knowledge to perform a myriad of responsibilities. This includes training staff on laser physics and tissue interaction based on the ANSI standard for laser programs, assisting surgeons with the use of equipment, answering technical support questions, and maintaining records. She attributes her longevity to the influence of her first mentor Louise Ryan, who instilled in her the values of honesty and integrity early in her career.

Prior to joining Lumenis, Ms. Lawless worked as a perioperative nurse for 30 years and as the head nurse of a neurosurgery division. In addition to performing her hospital duties, she held a commission in the Navy Nurse Corps as a reservist. This feat was made even more extraordinary by the fact that she earned her commission in the age of 50 – a rarity by the standards of her Navy recruiter, who stated, “[There is] much interest in the naval reserves [from] people in their 40s and 50s, but either because of medical reasons or what they may have done growing up in the 1960s, they are not accepted. But Anne is really a sterling individual with an exquisite background. To be granted an age waiver past 47, she had to be exceptional and outstanding.” Ms. Lawless feels deeply honored to have served her beloved country and concluded her military career after 10 years with the rank of Lieutenant Commander.

Ms. Lawless received her nursing diploma in 1960 from the University of Tennessee. Her professional affiliations include the Association of PeriOperative Registered Nurses, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, and the American National Standards Institute, where she sits on the safety committee. Ms. Lawless looks forward to continuing her professional growth at Lumenis and hopes to do part-time per diem nursing education, if and/or when, she retires.

When she is not working, Ms. Lawless enjoys the company of her daughter Renee, a professional actress and singer currently traveling with a production of the Broadway hit Wicked. She dedicates this honor to the loving memory of her husband Bobby Joe Lawless to whom she was married for 50 years.

Aikens, a most effective educator inside the Madison County (FL) public system with 47 years of dedicated and untiring service. Her passion for teaching and helping others to succeed in life has left an indelible mark, not only in her family’s hearts, but also in the hearts of all others whose lives she touched in her own special way.

Norman R. Cline, veteran math teacher and champion coach, has enjoyed achievement in both academics and athletics

JAL, NM, August 26, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ — Norman R. Cline, Mathematics Teacher and Coach for Jal Public Schools, has been recognized by Cambridge Who’s Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in education.

Proving that one can excel in both academics and athletics, Norman R. Cline has enjoyed a varied career in secondary education as a math teacher and coach. He brings 27 years of professional knowledge to Jal Public Schools. His responsibilities include teaching algebra and trigonometry, coaching football and basketball, and serving as a defensive coordinator for football teams. Under his guidance, Jal Public Schools won the state championship for football in 1999 and the state championship for basketball in 2000.

A coach at heart, Mr. Cline initially became a teacher because he wanted the opportunity to function in school athletics at the same time. His passion for his profession has bore fruit in his being named 2000 Class 2A Basketball Coach of the Year. He considers this his proudest accomplishment so far. Mr. Cline finds the deepest personal fulfillment in helping student athletes gain full scholarships to top universities and watching them grow into mature adults. He attributes his good results to his love of teaching and his good fortune in working with diligent, talented young athletes. Not one to take all the credit for himself, Mr. Cline dedicates his achievements to his administrators and community members in Reserve, Floyd, Capitan and Jal, and gives special mention to his wife Yolanda, who has stood by him over the years. He attests, “A coach’s wife is very important to any good results they may have.”

Mr. Cline received his master’s degree in administration in 1989 from Eastern New Mexico University and his bachelor’s degree in mathematics and biology from Western New Mexico University. He is affiliated with the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and names the Special Olympics and St. Jude Children’s Study Hospital as his favorite charities. In five years, Mr. Cline plans to retire, at which point he would like to devote more time to travel.

Most recently, Mr. Cline was named Cambridge Who’s Who Professional of the Year in Education for 2009 to 2010. While inclusion in Cambridge Who’s Who Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named the Cambridge Who’s Who Professional of the Year. The Cambridge Who’s Who selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, and leadership abilities.
